Showing Support in Our Community
Since its beginning, Blackwood Homes has been committed to giving back, not only in our own backyard but also in communities around the world. Throughout the year, we offer our employees many opportunities to volunteer, while also providing financial support to various organizations.
Organizations We Support
Many adults who’ve been incarcerated know, life after can be very difficult. They’ve done their time, learned from their mistakes, and are ready to lead more productive lives, but upon returning to society they find it difficult to find work and housing. This leads to 60% remaining unemployed, and over 75% being rearrested. Weld aims to change that, by providing training, skills education, and connections to help them find work, as well as clean and sober recovery housing to help integrate them back into society.
Seattle Children’s Hospital is united by one mission; providing hope, care, and cures to help every child live the healthiest and most fulfilling life possible. They deliver superior patient care, advance new discoveries and treatments through pediatric research and serve as the pediatric and adolescent academic medical center for Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho – the largest region of any children’s hospital in the country.
Dwellings Now is a charity that is committed to building homes and changing lives by providing shelter and hope for recipient families, as well as a life-changing experience for those involved in the building process. Your involvement will make a lasting difference in the lives of those who live in difficult living situations.
New Beginnings provides services to those whose lives have been affected by domestic violence - physical, emotional, or sexual abuse. Some who use their services are in physical danger. Others are living with controlling partners in relationships that are emotionally abusive. With over 40 years of history, New Beginnings has become a leading force in the movement to end domestic violence. On average, New Beginnings serves over 10,000 women, children, and men each year.
Rampathon is giving our neighbors the freedom to move about. Each year since 1993, MBA members and community volunteers head to home sites throughout King and Snohomish Counties to build a ramp. For free. Because our neighbors in need deserve the same freedoms we have. Wheelchair access ramps are their link to our beautiful community we all share.
